The Pain and Sensory Measurement System, PainVision PS-2100 can be used independently or connecting to a computer. When connecting PainVision PS-2100 to a computer, make sure your computer meets the operating environment.
This mode evaluates the Minimum Perceived Current (Current Perception Threshold) by gradually increasing its stimulating current. The device can be set to generate the stimulating current after confirming that the patient is able to use the hand switch supplied with the kit. Before taking measurements, the stimulating current and stimulation time limits can be set via the Settings Menu. At the point the stimulating current is initially acknowledged, the hand switch button shall be pressed, ending the measurement and stimulating current generation. The point at which current is initially acknowledged represents the Minimum Perceived Current (Current Perception Threshold).
This mode is for measuring pain. After measuring the Current Perception Threshold, use the same procedure to measure the level of current that produces a sensation equivalent to pain. Generate the stimulating current after checking that the patient is able to use the hand switch supplied with the kit. Before taking measurements, the stimulating current and stimulation time limits can be set via the Settings Menu. At the point the stimulating current is acknowledged as being equivalent sensation to pain, the hand switch button is pressed, ending the measurement and stimulating current generation. (Pain Equivalent Current)
Based on the Current Perception Threshold, the Pain Equivalent Current is evaluated, and can be displayed as values of Pain Ratio or Pain Degree.
This mode measures level of pain. The Current Perception Threshold is used as the standard; please set the stimulating current to this level to begin the measurement. Comparison with the pain can be made easily as the stimulating current is being released at a steady level. Measurement results are displayed on the screen for setting the magnitude ratio.
*Measurements can only be recorded with devices incorporating PainVision PS-2100’s proprietary software.
PainVision PS-2100 is provided with two types of software, “Pain Measurement Software” and “Current Perception Threshold Software”.
